Alpha Xi Delta's national philanthropy, Choose Children, is unique to our fraternity. Unlike other Greek organizations, who typically select a specific charitable organization, Alpha Xi Delta focuses on an overall idea that emphasizes service in the area of children's well-being. This allows each individual chapter the freedom to select local child-centered philanthropies to dedicate their time to. Our local philanthropy of choice is the Beta Center, an Orlando-based organization focused on giving children and parents the knowledge and support needed to develop strong and healthy families. The Beta Center primarily works with teen mothers and at-risk families. Theta Sigma regularly donates to the organization throughout the year, but our main fundraising event is our annual Xi Man competition. Each fraternity on campus selects a representative to compete in pageant events, which include speeches, donations and a talent competition. All of the money and supplies raised are donated directly to the Beta Center and the representative who excels in the competition is granted the title of Xi Man, or our sorority sweetheart. In 2007, Xi Man was named the best philanthropic event at UCF. Theta Sigma's philanthropic efforts aren't limited to UCF and the greater Orlando area. We have participated in national organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House as well as other Greek organization's philanthropies. Our chapter embraces the opportunity to serve others. Helping out those in need strengthens our sisterhood and reinforces the ideals that Alpha Xi Delta was founded upon. |

In 1998, Alpha Xi Delta's national headquarters joined in on supporting America's Promise-The Alliance for Youth by vowing to give more than 75,000 hours in service and more than $250,000 a year in donations. With all of our chapters working together, Alpha Xi Delta has met that goal each year.
